Appraisals services

“Do not underestimate the value of your valuable”

Frequently ask questions:

1/ When do I need an appraisal? You should have a home inventory or an appraisal on your valuables on file in case of fire, hurricane, flood and theft.
If you are moving, it is best to have an appraisal if any damages happen while you’re valuable are transported.
Also for divorce & Estate division settlement, and donations so you can claim the right appraising value on your tax forms…

2/ How does the appraisal process work?
We come to your house in Pensacola, Gulf breeze and Pensacola Beach at no charge the first time to give you a quote for the appraisal & home inventory.
Next step, we inspect the pieces, condition, measurements, and photos.
Then, we start our research on the pieces.
The last step is the report. We deliver you two reports & 1 CD. We recommend that you keep one report with you in the house and have the 2nd one and the CD in your safe.

2/ how can I (the client) make the inspection process easier?
Make sure there is plenty of light in the room, natural light is better. If china or smalls are in a cabinet, take out everything on kitchen counter for example so the appraiser can inspect the pieces easily. That will save time and risk of breakage.

3/ How do I know this appraiser is qualified to do my appraisal? You can check their records and the national web site of the organization they belong too.

4/ Why do I want a “certified” Appraiser?
Because their credentials is revised to high standards every five years and have to follow the Uniform Standards in Appraisal Practice and the code of Ethics of a professional organization. There are 4 professional organizations. Elodie Cardon belongs to the International Society of Appraisers. You may check there web site
www.isa-appraisers.org

5/ How often shall I update my appraisal?
Every three to 5 years.

6/ How do I know that my information is confidential?
For our client peace of mind, your appraisal remains confidential and written notice is necessary from you, my client for us to send a copy to the directed party unless we would be called by the court.
